Re-elect Wayne H thomas  Hampstead Town Council

Water

Water has been a key issue in Hampstead.  The Town has come a long way since 1993.  The Town has invested money in adding a control system on the wells, water towers, and pumping stations.  The Town has added a new water tower and improvements to the distribution network.  Wayne Thomas has supported the improvements to the water system.

The control system allows the Town to better manage its water resources.  It controls the water lever in the towers and reduces the electrical costs of running the system, thus saving the Town and its citizens money.

Wayne supported the Code changes that tightened up the requirements for a developer to provide adequate water for their developments.    He has also supported the efforts to find other sources of water outside our Town boundaries.  Unfortunately, the Town was not able to find an adequate water source.

The Town recently replace the aging water lines on our Main Street.  Wayne supported this work because it will reduce ongoing maintenance costs and was the first step in the reconstruction of our Main Street.  The new pipeline provided immediate improvements to our water system reducing our system leakage to less than 1%.  The Town needs to better manage the existing wells.  Wayne supported the construction of the new pump house in North Carroll Farms, which will bring together the water from four different wells so that the Town can get the maximum use from these existing wells.
